Analisa Keselamatan Angkutan Penyeberangan di PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero)

Sea ferry transportation serves as a vital mode of connectivity for archipelagic countries such as Indonesia. PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), a state-owned enterprise, plays a central role in facilitating inter-island transportation services. However, the risk of accidents and safety disruptions remains high when safety standards are not adequately implemented. This study aims to analyze the key factors influencing ferry transport safety at PT ASDP, including human, technical, operational, and environmental aspects. The research employs a mixed-method approach combining quantitative and qualitative techniques through surveys, interviews, and document reviews. Findings reveal several challenges, such as inadequate fleet maintenance, limited adherence to safety procedures, insufficient crew training, and weak supervision of vehicle loading. The discussion highlights the need for strengthened safety management, improved safety culture, and consistent regulatory monitoring. The study concludes that ferry transport safety within PT ASDP can be enhanced through the implementation of a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS), reinforcement of human resource competencies, and active participation of all stakeholders. Strengthening collaboration between government agencies, port authorities, and ferry operators is also essential to ensure sustainable and safe maritime transportation in Indonesia.
